But I still don't see it in the way it was originally described, as an XYZ transport.
re'born already answered it.

All pincers transport to r8c5.
r5c3=8 => r5c5<>8 => r8c5=8
(This tr ...

Its a nice way to find it, but after all only a part of the path (without the UR) is needed:

(4=5)r4c8-(5)r1c8=(5-8)r1c1=(8)r3c2-(8=4)r4c2;
r4c369<>4, then r4c3=9, r4c6=6

I suppose, that the easy it was to spot it, the hard it is to formulate my elimination as an AIC.
In my sloppy notation i would say
r1c6<>79 [i.e. none of them] => r89c6=79 [i.e. a pair] = ...

Rather, they help to describe how you found the chain.Thats why like a name for them. I find them looking at the 2 bivalue cells with a common number. But i fiind xy-chains, when looking for pincers ...

For me its up to Keith to name them for this forum.
I think, more names for the same are no problem, neither overlapping names like skyscraper, turbot fish, ER, finned x-wing and coloring.
But the ...

Nice [url=http://nataraj.eluhost.de/fmtsudoku.htm]tool, nataraj.

I had written 3 lines C-code to add the address and the colons to a puzzle. But i only have it available on my linux PC.

I see a (half) M-wing there.

Effective is a rather strong term! The SdC only performs more initial eliminations than Norm's continuous loop. In this puzzle, both the SdC and the continuous loop reduce the puzzle to the same grid ...

How do these eliminations compare to the Sue de Coq you were trying to avoid?
Very interesting loop near the Sue de Coq cells, where 2 cells are revisited.

However the Sue de Coq eliminations are ...

Nice solution anyway.

Here is another example with an e ...

Since the pattern of ...

Nice solutions.

In mine no chains/transports are needed, but a type 6 (?) UR, leading to a type 4 UR, strong links in the 6-cell DP above, and a 2-cell BUG to finish it off.
