This one has a lot of available methods including a swordfish (and finned swordfish) that may be useful.

I wanted to find a nice short path but didn't, is there one?

				wow, good puzzle

I was able to break it down to four chains

 	  | Code: | .---------------------.---------------------.---------------------.

| 89     2      3     | 56     7      569   | 1      458    48    |

| 78     4678   4678  | 1      35     2     | 368    568    9     |

| 5      1      69    | 4      39     8     | 36     7      2     |

:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:

| 789    3      56789 | 2      4589   45679 | 6789   468    1     |

| 4      678    6789  | 3      1      679   | 2      68     5     |

| 2      5678   1     | 567    4589   45679 | 6789   3      478   |

:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:

| 1      9      457   | 8      45     3     | 57     2      6     |

| 6      4578   4578  | 9      2      457   | 578    1      3     |

| 3      578    2     | 57     6      1     | 4      9      78    |

'---------------------'---------------------'---------------------' |

1...(9)... r5c3 = r5c6 - r1c6 = r3c5; r3c3 <> 9

some singles...

this is a bruiser

2...(6=5)r1c4 - (5=7)r9c4 - (7)r9c9 - (7-4)r6c9 = (4-6)r4c8 = (6)r5c8 - (6)r5c2 = (6)r6c2; r6c4 <> 6

some singles..

this next chain makes an elimination in one cell and continues to make an elimination in another cell.

3...(8=7)r4c1 - (7)r4c7 = (7)r6c79 - (7=5)r6c4 - (5)r4c5 = (5)r4c3; r4c3 <> 8

....(8=7)r4c1 - (7)r4c7 = (7)r6c79 - (7=5)r6c4 - (5)r4c5 = (5-9)r4c3 = (9)r5c3; r5c3 <> 8

this next one is basically an extended M-wing

4... (7=8)r2c1 - (8)r2c3 = (8)r8c3 - (8)r8c7 = (8-7)r9c9 = (7)r6c9; r4c7 and r6c2 <> 7

singles follow. |
