 A solution:
 Nice to have a two-stepper unless | Quote: | | Two XY-Wings work- 179 pivot r5c5 leading to 479 XY pivot r3c6 > r7c5=1

 anyone knows better........

				| Hugh : you need 2 more steps !
Investigating the solutions of the puzzle from the 2 solutions of R4 gives : r4c6=7 -> r8c6={} while r4c6=1 solves the puzzle using stte.
 Interpretation :

  	  | Code: | | +----------+-----------------+-----------------+ | 9  2   7 | 1      6   8    | 3     5   4     |
 | 8  6   4 | 35     2   35   | 1     7   9     |
 | 1  3   5 | 47     79  479  | 8     6   2     |
 +----------+-----------------+-----------------+
 | 5  18  3 | (67)   4   1-7  | 9     2   8(6)  |
 | 7  18  2 | 36     19  139  | 46    48  5     |
 | 6  4   9 | 25     8   25   | 7     1   3     |
 +----------+-----------------+-----------------+
 | 3  9   6 | 248-7  17  1247 | 5     48  78    |
 | 2  5   1 | 48-7   3   (47) | (46)  9   78(6) |
 | 4  7   8 | 9      5   6    | 2     3   1     |
 +----------+-----------------+-----------------+
 pseudo-WWing : (7=6)r4c4 - 6r4c9=6r8c9 - (6=47)r8c76 :=> -7r4c6,r78c4; stte

				| I'm confused. The puzzle for the 14th shows as a Hard, not a VH. | |

Sorry folks- not sure how that happened. The puzzle was from 2010!
(I have amended the title of the original post)

Hey, that's almost happened to me a couple of times Hugh! If you're like me, you probably print out VHs from the archive and do them on days that this site doesn't have a VH. I remember at least a few times that I confused a puzzle that I did one day with this site's puzzle for that day.
