however, it only needs "basic" moves

 |

Of course. But that is not any fun.

 | 	  okay then, here's a puzzle for you --

can't be solved by "basic" moves,

requires something extra

.1...4...9...8.6.........5.....9...6.2.4.1.3.1...2.4...3...2.....8.6...9...3...4.

[ play ]  	  | Code: |

 . 1 . | . . 4 | . . .

 9 . . | . 8 . | 6 . .

 . . . | . . . | . 5 .

Pat, I like your puzzles

 	  | Code: | I ran out of basic (lcls) moves here

 *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*

 | 235678  1       23567   | 25679   357     4       | 2789    89      2378    |

 | 9      b457     23457   | 1257    8      b57      | 6      c127     12347   |

 | 234678  4678    23467   | 12679   137     69      | 12789   5       123478  |

 |-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|

 | 34578   4578    3457    | 578     9       38      | 12     c12      6       |

 | 5678    2       5679    | 4       57      1       | 5789    3       578     |

 | 1       5789    3579    | 5678    2       368     | 4       89      578     |

 |-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|

 | 57      3       1579    | 89      4       2       | 1578    6       1578    |

 | 2457   a457     8       |a157     6      a57      | 3       27-1    9       |

 | 2567    5679    125679  | 3       157     89      | 12578   4       12578   |

 *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*

There are a couple of x-wings here but I like a one step solution plus a hidden pair.

(1=457)r8c246-(4=57)r2c26-(7=12)r24c8 => -1r8c8; lclste (hidden pair)

either r8c4=1 or r24c8=12

				A similar solution pattern: 	  | Code: | 	 		  |----------------------|-----------------|--------------------|

| 235678  1     23567  | 25679  357  4   | 2789   89   2378   |

| 9      (457)  23457  | 1257   8   (57) | 6     12(7) 12347  |

| 234678  4678  23467  | 12679  137  69  | 12789  5    123478 |

|----------------------|-----------------|--------------------|

| 34578   4578  3457   | 578    9    38  | 12     12   6      |

| 5678    2     5679   | 4      57   1   | 5789   3    578    |

| 1       5789  3579   | 5678   2    368 | 4      89   578    |

|----------------------|-----------------|--------------------|

| 57      3     1579   | 89     4    2   | 1578   6    1578   |

|(24)57  (4)57   8     | 157    6    57  | 3    (27)-1  9     |

| 2567    5679  125679 | 3      157  89  | 12578  4    12578  |

|----------------------|-----------------|--------------------|

r2c2=4 -> r8c1=4 -> r8c8=2

    =5 -> r2c6=7 ->

    =7 ->        -> r8c8=7 => r8c8<>1

				| I was looking at a horrendous grid loaded with polyvalue cells and was ready to throw in the towel. Then I noticed the 127 triple in c8, after which I used a W-Wing on 89 (apparently not needed) and X-Wings on 7 and 5. |

(seen such before, but not very common) |
